Right now I'm waiting for the Olympic figure skating to come on the TV, so I thought I could use my time well and tell y'all about this darling fic by The Original Psycho @ Fictionpress.com.
The story is called The Cynical Ranting of Hayden Paretski and is basically about this adorable guy who's all bitter and hates the world.
Yes, I do love him.
Hayden is just living his life, annoyed with pretty much everything, when another irritating object shows up: The new kid at school. It's a classic, yes, but if it's well-written it's a storyline I never tire of. Luckily, this is one of those well-written pieces.
Ah! The angst that resides within teenagers! Will I ever get fed up with the inner turmoil that they face every moment of their more or less petty lives? I seriously doubt it. I love how they keep denying their less-than-straightness, their moral battles ('But he's a boy! It's wrong!'), and how they finally decide that they can't resist temptation.
When I think about it, I believe what I like most about fics is how they all try to resist temptation, and howthey all fail so hard. The one reason to why I enjoyed stories where a girl dressed up as a boy was because of the inner struggle the male hero faced when he believed he might be gay. Alas! ♥
And yes, I did some ranting there myself, but the point of this is: Read the story. It's good. And I promise you you will fall in love with lovely Hayden and his contempt for humanity. Wonderful. ♥

# 15 - Fic Tip
'Sup, everybody?
As you can see, I've changed the layout! Yet again. It's made by the awesome Tiara (whose url unfortunately doesn't work), with some modifications by me. And yeah, I use Paint, so seriously, kudos to me.
Recently I've found myself in somewhat of a reading recess. Not that I read any less, it's rather that what I read isn't good enough. Dear friends, am I turning blasé? I sure hope not, because well, frankly, I have an addiction here, and if it gets harder to fulfill, I'll go batshit insane.
I do have a nice treat for y'all, though. Yes, you read it correctly, there's still hope!
Most Perfect Servant by Bickazer is an Original about Japheth, a servant. He comes from a prestigious family of servants and butlers, and has been raised since childhood to become the perfect servant. When Japheth is employed by the rich Adam, however, the young valet finds it harder and harder to separate his duty from his personal feelings. Things are further complicated by the fact that Adam is the man Japheth has sworn to kill...
Yeah, I know, I suck at recapping. But trust me, this is some good shiet!
As you all are aware of, I would never recommend to you something that didn't keep the utmost quality. Most Perfect Servant is indeed incredibly well-written, and is updated frequently. The storyline of Master and Servant is hardly new, but the twist of assassination keeps things fresh.
I think what I love most about it, though, is how the characters are portrayed. They all have so many layers, and I find it incredibly fascinating to follow the inner struggles that Japheth and the others encounter. Bickazer has really succeeded in depicting the different sides of her characters and give them dimension.
Be sure to give it a try! And if you all have any tips on good reading, please share it with me! My desperation is getting kinda ridiculous...

# 14 - Manga Suggestion
Hi everybody! Long time no see!
I've really been busy these last few weeks. With what, I don't know, considering I'm unemployed, but somehow I've found myself out of time... I guess you just get used to having too much time on your hands, so when something finally happens, you don't know how to plan in a good way.
I've had a great Christmas and New Year's Eve together with my family, and I hope your holidays' been awesome too! I was really happy to meet my siblings, we are really close, so not meeting them for 6 months has been pretty hard on me.
And speaking of hard-ons...
Dangerous Pleasure have been celebrating their kinda anniversary. 4 ½ years of spreading hot smexin' between gorgeous men to the needing fangirls! It's really admirable. Anyway, you should all check out their site, they released a batch of deliciousness for the occasion. (And then continue to check there regularly for updates, DP scanlates a lot of great BL titles. Every Saturday is when you can find fresh meat at the market.)
Part of this anniversary batch was chapter 10 of the wonderful series Yume Musubi, Koi Musubi.

I have absolutely no idea why I haven't read this before. The mangaka is Sakuragi Yaya, who also is one of the creators behind an all-time favorite of mine: Renai Kyoutei Nukegake Nashi! (scanlated by Memory For You and Peccatore-Sanctuary, available for reading online at Manga Fox.)
I'm a big fan of Sakuragi Yaya (or, at least I admire and appreciate her work a lot). She often draws ukes that are very beautiful, albeit undoubtedly masculine. Sexy, in other words. This time, though, the uke is the cute type, but it works out fine anyways~! He's perverted to make up for it... And if you prefer the fierce and stylish type, there is always the seme to drool over. He's edible, I promise.
The story is about high school student Ao, who has a wet dream about the priest at the local Shinto shrine. The dream makes him curious about how having sex with the handsome priest would be like in reality, and he is determined to find out. Ao is straight-forward, and excessively so, which makes him a welcome change from the usual innocent, cute bottoms. He is innocent, alright, but because of this he acts entirely on his urges and instincts. I find it fascinating how someone can be so perverted and so naive at the same time...
The artwork is great, the story is good even if it's not on Nobel Prize level, and overall it's just a splendid way of spending the time I have way too much of.
Over and out, dolls!

# 13 - Liquid Passion to Translate Sakuraga Mei
Oh. My. God.
Oh my God.
I was halfheartedly browsing through the Project-list at Liquid Passion when my eyes caught something that made my heart beat faster and my breath catch.
I've been a great fan of the wonderful mangaka Sakuraga Mei since I read her sexy stories with the exact right amount of angst for making it dramatic without being emo. Now it turns out that Kirai ja Nai Kedo and Warui Koto Shitai aren't the only books in her delightful series about the adorable and cool schoolboys. Two other volumes, part two and four, are to be translated by Liquid Passion. (The first volume is licensed by Kitty Media and the third is scanlated by Fantasy Shrine).
Warui Ko Demo Ii and Warui Otoko Demo Ii are currently in scanning, and I personally can't wait until they are released. Please look forward to it!
(While waiting, you should all totally read Sakuraga Mei's other works. Go-go buy it!)

# 11
And btw, finally Emil and Alfred are starting to get somewhere. Their relationship is still non-existent, but since they have finally reunited, I feel as if their prospects are at least a tiny bit sunnier.
But something troubles me. I was looking through my plans for them, and I noticed one thing that I really must change. In pretty much every scene where Emil and Alfred find themselves in a situation containing lovely, lovely smex, there are copious amounts of alcohol involved.
What does this really say about my view on sex and love and I don't know, interaction between people in general? That you have to be drunk in order to function in society? I think I learned something about myself today. I feel surprised and in a way betrayed, actually.
And remember, children: ALCOHOL IS NEVER GOOD FOR YOU! Except if you are wounded, and you don't want your limbs to rot... But that is pretty much the only situation you can gain from the use of alcohol. Please, use it with care.
# 10 - I Have a Dream
I have a dream.
It's rather silly, really. Most people dream about making lots of money, or marrying an awesome man, or maybe even saving the planet. I dream of those things too, except for the last one (hey, I'm at least a little realistic, ok?).
I want to be a part of a scanlation or subbing group. Because really, faggotry is probably my only passion. To be able to spread the yummy love between men to other fangirls and boys would be like heaven. And maybe, one day, I could move towards becoming a translator for a real publisher.
My heart swells and tingles when I think about it, and I swear, my eyes sting, as if I was about to cry. I really want this! And one day, I will learn enough Japanese to make my dream come true.
(The problem would of course be that in order to learn more Japanese I have to study it, but I must also study in order to get a real job. And since translator is only a fantasy, and with a rather poor future I might add, I have to focus on something boring like national economy. No fun.)
